Delivery Truck Driver – CDL A/B

Job Duties:

  • Know the product and ensure that each Item and the correct quantity is delivered as shown on the ticket to the correct customer job site. Know where you are going.  Know the subdivisions and locations of the jobs. Know how to use digital navigation and how to read a map. 
  • Scan in and Scan out for each load. Deliver loads in a timely manner, taking the most direct route, all while OBSERVING ALL SAFETY AND TRAFFIC REGULATIONS.  WEAR SEAT BELTS.
  • Perform pre-trip inspection daily on trucks which includes checking fluid levels and, tire pressure. Top off fuel nightly. Park trucks, pull keys, put away radios each night. Keep truck clean.
  • Report any damage to equipment or vehicles immediately to the supervisor and fill out the required paperwork to document the incident.
  • Assist with pulling and loading operations as time permits. Ensure that loads are correct per the ticket and are loaded in a top-down manner (material used first is on top of the load).  Ensure that the load is secured and will not shift.
  • For Returns, verify the location and contact of where the return was picked up. Drop off the return at the proper place in the yard and forward paperwork and necessary information to the responsible party.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a valid Missouri CDL operator’s license and medical certificate to operate all the company’s heavy trucks/trailers. 
  • Must be able to safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts, conveyors, etc.
  • The physical requirements for this job include walking and standing on concrete floors and unpaved yard and jobsite areas; sitting in the cab of a delivery truck for much of the work shift; stair and ladder climbing are required. Working outside and in unheated storage areas is required. This job is subject to the temperature, humidity and precipitation extremes of the local climate. All motor skills normally used in grasping, lifting, bending, turning and carrying (minimum of 80 lbs.) are necessary.  Correctable vision and hearing are needed.

Lumber Yard Puller/Loader

Full time position, Monday-Friday at our Columbia store.

Job Duties:

  • Pull orders correctly, in a timely manner. Must know how to sequentially load trucks for unloading at the customer site and in the order that the customer will use the material.  Ensures that loads are carefully balanced and strapped on the delivery trucks.
  • Know the product codes and the product to accurately pull orders without errors. Must complete all paperwork and scanning activities to account for all product pulled and loaded for customer orders. 
  • Daily, keeps bands, bearings, wrappers, packing material, etc. picked up to maintain the yard appearance. Level lumber piles.  Think about what the next guy is left to work with. 
  • Responsible for the tools on each forklift including tapes, snips, etc. Responsible for the daily maintenance (fluid levels, hydraulic hoses, tires, fan is clear of debris) and cleanliness of the forklift.
  • Mark Tickets with the location of product pulled. Do not block other orders being pulled.
  • Assist customers with pulling and loading pickup orders.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and cooperate fully with fellow employees and the supervisor.
  • Knows how to operate banding equipment and how to maintain and load the banding equipment.
  • Must be able to safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts, conveyors, etc.
